KLM Flying Blue Experience

KLM the true blue Royal Dutch Airline, is one of the most popular airlines in Europe. Though a 4 Star Airline, KLM or legally known as ‘Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij N.V. (Royal Dutch Airlines), is the oldest airline in the world, still operating under its original name and was founded in the year 1919. Being one of the famous airlines in the world, finally, I got the opportunity to experience yet another different and cool airlines from Malaysia all the way to Colombia via Amsterdam.

 Snacks and Delectables

During each flights, snacks, which is also known as delectables were served at the galley. As a matter of the snacks were left there for any passengers to consume. Since those delectables were served in the middle of the flight time, not many passengers knew about this privilege.

Overall, the KLM flight experience surpasses my expectation. The food presentation and ‘Blue’ marketting strategy were great with it’s Tasty Blue Range of In-flight meal. The food served was incredibly fast with great choices. In my opinion, the taste of the in-flight food was tasty particularly its tiramisu. The entertainment system was smooth and entertaining except for the lack of USB port for the flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. That was a setback if there is a need to charge portable electronic devices. KLM has its own frequent-flyer program which is called Flying Blue. It also has a codeshare partnership with other airlines as well as the SkyTeam alliance. (similiar to One World and Star Alliance.

Environmental Sustainability Effort

KLM Flying Blue Experience, Review, Economy class, Golden Sustainability, Environmental Effort

In case of my personal experience, KLM is one of the two known airline companies that initiates environmental sustainability effort in reducing CO2 emissions in its flights around the world. The other airline company that practices environmental sustainability is Thai Airways.

KLM Flying Blue Experience, Review, Economy class, anti food wasting campaign, enviromental, Tagline, If you don't eat it, don't waste it, your neighbour might eat two

KLM even took it further in every in-flight meal to reduce food wastage. With its tagline “if you don’t eat it, don’t waste it. your neighbour might eat two (pun intended)”, I am sure anyone will think twice before wasting the food instead of passing to their neighbour. Hopefully this effort will have an impact in reducing food wastage.
